Hymers College is a co-educational independent school day school in Kingston upon Hull, located on the grounds of the old Botanical Gardens. Founded in 1887, it is one of the leading schools in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

Hymers College 11 Plus (11+) Admissions
The 11+ admissions process begins with an application form which needs to be returned to the school along with a non-refundable registration fee of £25.
Before the written assessments, your child will be invited to the school for the morning to sit an online assessment testing Reasoning ability.
They will also sit a Dyslexia screening assessment prior to the exam so that it can be determined whether they will need extra time for the written papers.
An interview with the Headmaster is also part of the admissions process.

The Hymers College 11+ entrance examination consist of the following assessments:
- English paper
- Mathematics paper
- Computer based test (CEM Select)
The English paper aims to evaluate your child’s comprehension and writing skills, whilst the maths paper is designed to examine their skills in problem-solving and arithmetic.
CEM Select is an online assessment which examines your child’s skills in Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning and Numerical Reasoning. The test is appropriate to their age and year of entry.
