Introduction

Hurstpierpoint College is an independent co-educational day and boarding school located just to the north of the village of Hurstpierpoint in West Sussex. The College was established by Canon Nathaniel Woodard in 1849 and is a member of the Woodard Corporation.

The Prep School curriculum consists of the core subjects plus history, geography, French, Spanish, REP, Latin, art, design technology, drama, IT, music, PE and PSHCE.

The Outdoor Education programme allows pupils to experience a range of activities, including triathlons, kayaking, sailing on a local lake and orienteering. Furthermore, they partake in a number of clubs such as Art & crafts, Ballet, Street dance, Mindfulness, Science, Chess, Manga drawing, Coding, Cricket, Tap dance, Drama and many more.

The school’s community lives by the motto Beati Mundo Corde (Blessed are the pure in heart) and is thus characterised by a sense of duty, an awareness of right and wrong and a respect for others. By encouraging a balanced view of life, Hurst enables pupils’ development into independent and mature individuals, who proceed to act for the benefit of their close community and society as a whole after leaving the school’s premises.
