Introduction
Basic information: Hampton School is an independent day school for boys in Hampton, Greater London. Founded in 1557, it has a preparatory department that occupies a stunning building off Gloucester Road. Open Events for Hampton Prep School 8 Plus (8+) Entry
Hampton Prep offers a plethora of activities within the scope of its Open Events programme. Upon arrival, you will hear an address from the Head, followed by a guided tour of facilities. Hampton Prep School 8 Plus (8+) Admissions
8+ is not the school’s standard point of entry, hence admissions will depend on availability of places. If there are places available, the registration form should be submitted (together with a payment of a £100 fee).
To enter Year 4, your child will be asked to sit formal assessments. The school will publish his results within the following three to four weeks. Please note that to accept a place, you will be asked to pay a deposit.

The Hampton Prep School 8 Plus (8+) exam consists of the following assessments:

- Mathematics
- Reasoning (online)
The English assessment examines comprehension and writing skills, including spelling, punctuation and grammar, as well as the fluency of your child’s reading and oral skills.
The Maths exam assesses problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills, including your child’s knowledge of times tables.
The online Reasoning exam is likely to resemble the CAT4 (Cognitive Abilities Test), which assesses Verbal, Non-Verbal, Spatial and Quantitative Reasoning skills.
