Introduction

 

Exeter School is an independent, co-ed day school in Exeter, Devon. Dating back to 1633, Exeter was named South-West Independent Secondary School of the Year 2018’ by The Sunday Times and has been rated as ‘excellent’ in all categories in their most recent ISI report. [1] [2]

Exeter School 7 Plus (7+) Admissions

 

To formally start the admissions process, you should complete and submit this registration form and pay the non-refundable fee of £50.

 

Your child will be invited to the school to be assessed in the areas of English and Maths. If they receive an offer, you will have three weeks to confirm the acceptance by signing the parental contract and paying a refundable deposit.

Exeter School 7 Plus (7+) Exam Format

 

The Exeter School 7 Plus (7+) exam consist of the following assessments:

 

  • English
  • Mathematics

 

The English assessment will examine comprehension and writing skills, including spelling, punctuation and grammar, as well as the fluency of your child’s reading and their oral skills.    

 

The Maths exam assesses your child’s problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills, including their knowledge of times tables.

 

Your child’s listening skills will also be assessed, as papers for both subject areas will be read aloud by the teacher.
