Ewell Castle School is an independent day school in Epsom, Surrey. Founded in 1926 by Herbert Budgell as a boarding school, it became fully co-educational in 2015.
The Senior School curriculum covers art, business, classical civilization, computing & ICT, design technology, drama, English, geography, history, mathematics, MFL, religion & ethics, PSE, physical education and science.

The Senior School Open Evening will take place in June. Registration for the event is made via an online form available on the school’s website.
Ewell Castle School 11 Plus (11+) Admissions
To apply for Year 7 entry, you should complete the application form and pay a registration fee. Your child will then be invited to attend a Taster day in September.
Entry is subject to fulfilling certain academic criteria, such as successful performance in the entrance assessment and interview with the Head, as well as a strong current school report. Entrance examinations, including scholarship tests, will take place in November.
Scholarships, available for pupils entering the Senior School at 11+, are awarded in the areas of Academic achievement, Art, Drama, Music, Sport and Design & Technology. The maximum award carries a 20% remission of fees, whilst others cover 15%, 10% or 5% of the fees.
In the case of academic scholarships, your child may be awarded one on the basis of successful performance in the entrance examinations, for which you will be notified in the offer letter. Separate specific assessments will be arranged for the categories of Sport, Art & Design, Drama, Music and Design & Technology.
Ewell Castle School offers means-tested awards/bursaries to children from low-income families. To be considered eligible, your child will be expected to satisfy the school’s entry criteria. Bursary applications must be submitted by the deadline in October prior to the year of entry. They should include a confidential statement of financial circumstances and a letter setting out your family circumstances, as well as other supporting documentation which will enable the school to determine the appropriate level of financial support.
The school uses the services of Bursary Administration Ltd in order to assess the need for financial assistance. Bursaries are reviewed annually and may vary, depending on your financial circumstances.

The English paper examines both comprehension and writing skills, including inference, spelling, vocabulary and punctuation. Marks will be awarded for good use of imagination, creativity, form, purpose, organisation, cohesion and sentence structure.
