Introduction

Edgbaston High School for Girls is an independent day school for girls located in the Edgbaston area of Birmingham. Through a mix of tradition and innovation, the school offers a  balanced education whilst providing its students with amazing opportunities for learning and discovery.

The broad curriculum includes English, drama, mathematics, sciences, French, Spanish, German, Latin, geography, history, RS, ICT, art and design, DT, music, PE and Learning to Learn.

The variety of extra-curricular activities on offer helps develop girls’ talents, teach them new skills and test their initiative. The school has art, science, gym and dance clubs, as well as more formal groupings for debating and public-speaking coupled with the Young Enterprise and Duke of Edinburgh Award Schemes.

Girls can also take part in the Technical Crew programme, where they learn audio-visual, sound and lighting techniques to assist school productions. The school organises a number of residential trips, both abroad and in the UK.

In line with the school’s motto Fideliter, Fortiter, Feliciter (Faithfully, bravely, successfully), girls benefit from the outstanding education provided by the school, underlined by recent GCSE results, with a pass rate of 95% and 55.1% at grades 9-7 (equivalent to A*/A).
