Introduction
Founded in 1522 by Dame Johane Bradbury, Dame Bradbury’s School is an independent, co-ed school. In 2013, Dame B’s joined the Stephen Perse Foundation, a family of independent schools in Cambridge and Saffron Walden. [1]
The school’s educational philosophy is focused on boosting pupils’ skills in the following areas: humanities & social understanding, scientific understanding, language & communication, mathematical understanding, creative & performing arts and PE & well-being.
Children at Dame B’s have the opportunity to choose from a wide variety of co-curricular clubs, ranging from Badminton, Choir, Ballet, STEM and Drama to Mandarin, Science Investigation Challenge, Eco-green, Gardening and Chess.
Via trips and excursions, organised by the school on a regular basis, pupils maximise their capacity for independent thought and conduct. Whether that be theatre visits or tours of the National Gallery, the Houses of Parliament or Westminster Abbey, children have the chance to explore their historical, religious and cultural interests whilst developing their interpersonal skills.
The school aims to preserve the individuality and unique potential of every child by providing first-class teaching within a secure and dynamic environment for learning. Encouraging personal and social responsibility, Dame B’s provides children with a global outlook and actively prepares them for success in the world of opportunities beyond school.
