Introduction
Croydon High School is an independent day school for girls located near Croydon, London. Founded in 1874, it is one of the original schools founded by the Girls’ Day School Trust. [1]
The curriculum covers maths, English, music, drama, MFL, computer science and PE.
Encouraged to engage in the wide range of activities on offer, girls further improve their skills in Cricket, Glass Jewellery Making, Swimming, Installation Art and Debating, amongst others.

The Junior School Open Morning allows you and your child to familiarise yourselves with the atmosphere on campus and the school’s ethos. During the event, the committed staff will be on hand to answer any questions of interest.

Croydon High School 7 Plus (7+) Admissions
If you wish to apply for a place at the Junior School, you should enter your daughter’s details in this application form. Please note that the form should be submitted together with a £100 fee.
Your daughter will then be invited for testing, which will cover English and mathematics. Upon successful completion of the assessments, she may be offered a place at the school.
To accept the offer, you will be expected to pay a deposit of £750, held until the end of your daughter’s final term in the school.

Scholarships and bursaries are only available for Senior School entry.
Croydon High School 7 Plus (7+) Exam Format
The Croydon High School 7 Plus (7+) exam consists of the following assessments:
- English
- Mathematics
The English assessment will examine comprehension and writing skills. Your daughter will be expected to read with confidence and be able to write simple original stories, poems and descriptions. In addition, she will be given a passage to read and then asked questions about it.
The maths exam assesses your daughter’s problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills, including counting; addition & subtraction; multiplication & division; recognition of coins, simple bills and giving change, etc.
The assessment will last for approximately two and a half hours.
