Cranleigh School is an independent day and boarding school in the village of Cranleigh, Surrey. Founded in 1865, the school is noted for its pupils’ achievements in the area of sports and has been rated as the third best sporting school nationally in previous years. 
The academic provision in the Prep School is strong, including a number of cross-curricular disciplines besides the core subjects of maths, English, humanities and science. These include computing, art, RE, food technology, Latin, DT, drama, music and French.

Prior to applying for a place, you are advised to visit the school together with your child in order to get a feel for the school’s atmosphere. Cranleigh Prep School 7 Plus (7+) Admissions
The school strongly encourages early registration, preferably while your child is in Year 1. The registration fee of £200 is non-refundable.
All registered applicants will be invited to the school to attend Taster sessions, during which they will familiarise themselves with teaching staff members and the campus. Booking for these events is required.
In November of the year preceding entry, the school holds Assessment Day, during which your child will participate in team-building activities and attend an informal interview. On the day, they will also sit Cranleigh’s formal examinations, assessing numeracy and literacy skills.
A report from your child’s current school will also be taken into account, as well as their capacity to contribute to the school’s community.

The English exam examines comprehension and writing skills, including inference, punctuation and grammar, as well as the fluency of your child’s reading and their oral skills.
