Introduction
Chesham Prep School is an independent, co-educational school in Buckinghamshire. Founded by Mrs Christina Adlington in Chesham in 1938, it is known as a friendly, family-orientated school at the heart of the local community.
In Year 7, pupils study English, mathematics, science, history, geography, Spanish, French, computing, music, design technology, art, social & health education, religious education and physical education.
Within the Outdoor Education programme, the school invests heavily in raising environmental awareness amongst its pupils, as well as providing students opportunities to explore outdoors.
At Chesham Prep, pupils are known and valued, and their confidence is cultivated as they are prepared for the next stage of their educational journey. Chesham Prep School 11 Plus (11+) Admissions
Admission to the school at 11+ is conditional upon a successful assessment day, a strong current-school report and any reports or information from educational psychologists or other relevant bodies. The assessment process also usually includes an interview.
In order for your child to be invited for an assessment day, you should complete and sign a registration form, which must arrive at the school prior to the examinations and must be accompanied by a £100 registration fee. To accept an offer, you will be asked to make a payment of a deposit, as well, refunded during your child’s last term at the school.

Chesham Prep School 11 Plus (11+) Exam Format
The Chesham Prep School 11+ entrance examination consists of the following assessments:
- English (comprehension & writing)
- Maths (problem-solving & arithmetic)
- Reasoning (Verbal & Non-Verbal)
The English paper examines both comprehension and writing skills, including inference, spelling, vocabulary and punctuation. Marks will be awarded for good use of imagination, creativity, form, purpose, organisation, cohesion and sentence structure.
The maths exam assesses problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills. The paper may include questions on number, measurement, geometry, algebra and statistics.
The Verbal Reasoning assessment is primarily designed to test and measure your child’s logical thinking, use of English language and vocabulary.
The Non-Verbal Reasoning test measures the ability to understand, interpret and problem-solve, assessing logic and intelligence rather than knowledge.
