Open Events for Cheltenham Ladies’ College 13 Plus (13+) Entry
The Open Morning includes an address from the Head and a pupil-led tour of the College, as well as a visit to at least one Boarding or Day House. The event concludes with refreshments and the opportunity to meet with members of the Senior Staff and Admissions team.
Small Group Visits offer a fantastic introduction into Cheltenham College. These include refreshments, a short welcome from a Senior staff member, a pupil-led tour of the school, a visit to a Boarding House and a chat with the Head and members of the Admissions team.
An individual visit can also be arranged. Please note that individual appointments are limited and priority is given to families interested in entry no further than three years in advance. For more details, please visit the school’s website.
Cheltenham Ladies’ College 13 Plus (13+) Admissions
After the visit, you can register your daughter with the school using an online form. She will be expected to take part in an Assessment Day at the College in the Autumn Term of Year 7. This consists of an online assessment of reasoning skills (Verbal, Non-Verbal, Quantitative and Spatial), along with group activities and interviews.
If your daughter performs well on the Assessment Day, she will be invited sit take papers in English and mathematics in January prior to the year of entry.
A place will be offered on the basis of strong performance on the Assessment Day and in the entrance tests, as well as upon receipt of a positive confidential reference from her current school.
The College will release the results in mid-February. Successful applicants will then be able to apply for Scholarships, with further written assessments taking place the following January and February.
Cheltenham Ladies’ College 13 Plus (13+) Scholarships and Bursaries
At 13+, Cheltenham College offers Academic, Art, Drama, Music and Sports scholarships, exhibitions and awards. They are entirely merit-based and offered on the basis of an exam, audition or other appropriate assessment.
Your daughter can apply for more than one award. The 13+ Scholarship Form can be accessed via the school’s website.
Bursaries are means-tested and may carry a discount of up to 100% of the tuition fees, depending on your financial circumstances. A bursary can also supplement a scholarship.
To apply for a bursary, you will be expected to complete a ‘Confidential Statement of Financial Circumstances’ form and provide details of the financial circumstances of your household. The form must be accompanied by further documentation and is available upon request from the Fees Office. You are strongly advised by the school to apply well in advance in order to be considered.
