Introduction

Cheltenham College is a co-educational, day and boarding independent school located in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. Established in 1841, it is one of the public schools of the Victorian period and is well known for its classical, military and sporting traditions. [1]

Its Prep Department, Cheltenham Prep, maintains high academic standards through the provision of a diverse curriculum and extensive pastoral care. Small class sizes, coupled with cutting-edge facilities, laboratories and suites, enable pupils to explore their capacity for learning and effortlessly progress towards their senior years.

The warmth of the school’s community is underpinned by a rich programme of extracurricular activities, aiming to engage children as they form friendships and discover their natural talents. Clubs range from  archery, bakery,  coding and DT to equestrian, fencing, creative writing and drama. [2]

Cheltenham Prep prioritises pupils’ happiness, hence the provision of inspirational lessons and the wealth of after-class activities are firmly embedded in the school’s educational philosophy. Pupils are fully enabled to approach learning with enthusiasm and excitement, and fondly remember the time spent at school all throughout their adult years.
