The Whole School Open Evening is set in May, consisting of a pupil-led tour of the campus and a meeting with the teaching staff and the Senior Leadership team, including the Head. Booking is made via the Admissions Office or the online form available on the school’s website.
Burgess Hill Girls 11 Plus (11+) Admissions
Entry into Year 7 is subject to examination, interview and reference. The entrance and scholarship examinations take place in January and the deadline for applications is in November. The entrance exams consist of a computer based test and written papers.
Registration Forms are available on the school’s website. You will be expected to pay a (non-refundable) registration fee of £100.
At 11+, the school awards Academic, Art, Drama, Music and Sport Scholarships. Your daughter can apply for a scholarship only if she is registered with the school.
Bursaries are means-tested and allocated each year to provide financial help for those in need. The value of a bursary is related to your income and financial resources.
Bursaries are subject to annual review and their continuation depends on your financial situation and your daughter’s behaviour and progress at the school. Most bursaries awarded cover 10% to 30% of fees. You will be considered eligible if your gross income is less than £60,000 per annum (with a single child at the school).

The Burgess Hill Girls 11+ entrance examination consists of:
- Cognitive Abilities Test (CAT4)
The English paper examines both comprehension and writing skills, including inference, spelling, vocabulary and punctuation. Marks will be awarded for good use of imagination, creativity, form, purpose, organisation, cohesion and sentence structure.
The maths exam assesses your daughter’s problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills. The paper may include questions on number, measurement, geometry, algebra and statistics.
