7+ English: Comprehension Pack 1

These expertly designed 7+ English Comprehension papers reflect the length, format and difficulty of the papers used by some of the country’s leading prep schools. They will help children to develop the skills, accuracy and confidence needed to excel on exam day.

  The pack includes five full-length, realistic practice papers, as well as model answers, marking guidance and tips on how to help children to achieve top marks.

  The papers have been written by 7+ assessment experts, ensuring they are appropriately challenging, accurate and effective. The tests use carefully selected fiction and non-fiction passages that contain suitably demanding vocabulary and interesting themes.

  The papers cover all of the key comprehension skills commonly tested in 7+ assessments, including information retrieval, inference, word meanings, language techniques and imagery, grammar and punctuation and short creative writing tasks. 
• Practice in the correct format for your child’s exam
  The papers in Pack 1 are written in ‘Standard Answer’ format, meaning that children have to write their answers out in full sentences. A majority of schools use this format for their 7+ exam. The papers in Pack 2 are in ‘Multiple-Choice’ format, meaning that children have to select the correct answer from the options provided. Regular practice in the correct format helps children to develop the particular skills needed to achieve top marks in their exam. There is no duplication of content between Pack 1 and 2.
