11+ English May Half Term Course

Date & Time: 26-27 May 2025, 10am - 4pm Venue: Azbuka School

This is our second course of the year. At this stage in the preparation process we are looking to fully introduce and begin to establish the core concepts and fundamentals of the 11+. Each course is stand alone, so there is no need to have attended a previous course to fully benefit from this one.

In English, we will begin to go that little bit deeper, helping children to develop their understanding and provide more detailed and insightful answers and responses to exam-style questions. This is a good time for you to fully understand your child’s strengths and weaknesses, so you know what to tactically focus on over the summer.

Led by experienced EPP tutors, this 2-day 11+ English course will provide a comprehensive programme of skills-based study using exclusive EPP materials, concentrating on revision of the trickier areas, exam techniques and strategies. As well as supportive teaching and rigorous learning, there will be added take home material for your child to work on after the course, to consolidate and reinforce their skills. A short report will be prepared at the end of the course, so you will see how your child has performed and the areas they will need to specifically target the remaining weeks/months before the exams.

Our courses are taught in small groups in a fun and lively atmosphere. The aim is to build your child’s confidence and skills with plenty of encouragement and positive reinforcement. We’ve been running these courses for a number of years now and we know exactly what is required to succeed at 11+ at the top schools.

Vocabulary
Comprehension and responding to texts/written extracts
Understanding different genres
Responding to different question types
Timed tasks
Exam technique
Communication skills

All our courses reinforce exam technique, promote confidence and provide constructive activity during the school holiday.
