Introduction
Bradford Grammar School (BGS) is an independent, co-ed day school in Frizinghall, Bradford. Founded in 1548, BGS was a grammar school until 1975. [1]
In Year 3, pupils study maths, English, science, history, geography, computing, RS, MFL, PE & games, art, music, DT and PSHE.
The intellectually stimulating curriculum is enriched by a varied range of co-curricular activities such as netball, swimming, cross country, dance, lego, craft, gardening, choir and orchestra.
The school’s close proximity to the Lake District ensures that children frequently take part in outdoor visits and residential trips, creating in this way fond memories of their joint experiences.

Open Events for Bradford Grammar School 7 Plus (7+) Entry
The main Open Day event takes place in October. Prospective families are invited to visit the campus, tour facilities and meet with senior staff members. You can book your spot via an online form.

Bradford Grammar School 7 Plus (7+) Admissions
Once you enquire about Year 3 entry, either by telephone or via the website, you will be sent a pack including the Junior School Prospectus, details about school fees, a copy of the Junior School Hoc Age magazine and information on how to apply.
If you wish your child to be considered for entry, you should complete the online application form and pay the registration fee. They will then be invited to spend a day at the school in order to be formally assessed.
You will be notified of the outcome of the assessment via a letter, sent by the Head of the Junior School. If a place is offered, you should accept it by the deadline in early March of the calendar year of entry.

Scholarships and bursaries are only available for Senior School entry.
Bradford Grammar School 7 Plus (7+) Exam Format
The Bradford Grammar School 7 Plus (7+) exam consists of the following assessments:
- English
- Mathematics
The English assessment will examine comprehension and writing skills, including the fluency of your child’s reading; their spelling, punctuation and grammar skills, as well as their oral ability.
The maths exam assesses your child’s problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills, including their knowledge of times tables.
Your child’s interaction with peers and teachers will also be observed.
