Bishop’s Stortford College is a co-educational independent day and boarding school for pupils from the ages 4 to 11. Its 130-acre campus is located on the edge of Bishop’s Stortford in Hertfordshire. The school celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2018.

The Open Morning offers a fantastic opportunity to see the school via a guided tour and hear a talk by the College Head and the Head of the Prep School. You will also have a chance to talk to the staff, current pupils and current parents.

Bishop’s Stortford College 11 Plus (11+) Admissions
After visiting the school and deciding that it fits your child’s needs, you should fill in an application form, accompanied by a Registration Fee of £100.
Your child will then sit entrance examinations that cover English and mathematics papers and a standardised online test similar to CEM Select. There will also be an interview with a member of the senior staff. Based on your child’s performance, you may receive an offer of a place (in February).
An Acceptance Form that comes with the offer letter should then be completed and returned to the school by March, together with the Acceptance Fee.
Bishop’s Stortford College 11 Plus (11+) Exam Format
The English paper consists of reading, comprehension and writing exercises. The mathematics paper is designed to measure your child’s problem solving and arithmetic skills.
The online reasoning test resembles CEM Select, examining your child’s skills in Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning and Numerical Reasoning. The test is appropriate to their age and year of entry.
