The Year 7 curriculum comprises art, design & technology, drama & dance, DLS, English, food technology, French, geography, history, computer science, PSHCE, Mandarin, mathematics and modern dance. Bethany School 11 Plus (11+) Admissions

The first step of the admissions process includes completing an enquiry form. This is followed by a visit to the school and a formal registration for a place, which includes a payment of a £100 non-refundable fee.

The 11+ entrance examinations take place in November of the year preceding entry, while scholarship assessments are held the following week. As part of the admissions process, a reference from your child’s current school will be requested. There will also be an interview. The acceptance deposit for day pupils is £500 and for boarding pupils, it is £1,000.

Bethany School 11 Plus (11+) Scholarships and Bursaries

At 11+, the school offers scholarship awards, which typically carry a 15-25% reduction in fees and secure scholars’ access to a subject-specific scholarship programme. Academic scholarships provide a 25% fee remission. Scholarships in the areas of Art (performing/creative) and Sports are also awarded to Year 7 applicants.

Your child can obtain only one of these awards. Although scholarships can be combined with a means-tested bursary, the total will not exceed 50% of fees. Pupils who failed to obtain a scholarship, but have demonstrated potential throughout the admissions process, can participate in the school’s High Flyers programme.

The Christopher Jackson Academic Scholarship is awarded to pupils who attend primary state schools local to Bethany. The recipient of the award must be particularly able and have a capacity for academic excellence. The award itself can be worth up to 100% of fees and is subject to means testing.

If you are in need of financial assistance, the school offers bursary awards, to be applied for at the time of application for entry. Most bursarial awards are 50% or less for current pupils, and 30% or less for new pupils. Aside from taking into consideration your finances, the school will also assess your child’s academic potential prior to allocating bursarial support. For more information, please visit the school’s website.
