Introduction
Bablake School is a co-educational independent school located in Coventry. Founded in 1344 by Isabella of France, widow of Edward II, Bablake is considered one of the oldest schools in the UK. [1]
Its Junior School offers a broad curriculum, covering maths, English, science, religious education, geography, history, DT, computing, MFL, music, art, dance and PE & games.
The breadth of outdoor learning activities allows pupils to explore the natural world. Via the Forest School programme, the school enables them to develop personal and social skills, become environmentally friendly and learn about the importance of teamwork and cooperation. [2]

Bablake Junior School 7 Plus (7+) Admissions
Following the visit, you may wish to register your child with the school. The registration form can be found here. Please note that there is a non-refundable fee of £50.
The admissions process includes formal assessments in English, Maths and Reasoning. References from your child’s school will be requested.
If your child is offered a place, you will be asked to pay a £150 deposit to secure it.

Bablake Junior School 7 Plus (7+) Exam Format
The Bablake Junior School 7 Plus (7+) exam consists of the following assessments:
- English
- Maths
- Reasoning
The English assessment examines comprehension and writing skills, including spelling, punctuation and grammar, as well as the fluency of your child’s reading and their oral skills.
The Maths exam assesses your child’s problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills, including their knowledge of times tables.
The Verbal Reasoning section of the exam is designed to test and assess their logical thinking, use of English language and vocabulary.
The Non-Verbal Reasoning test measures their ability to understand, interpret and problem-solve, testing logic and intelligence rather than knowledge.
