Introduction
Aldro is an independent day and boarding school in Shackleford, near Godalming. It educates around 240 boys between the ages of 7 and 13.
The Year 7 curriculum falls into the following categories: Arts, Humanities, Languages, Mathematics, Sciences and Sport. The school operates a ‘Gifted and Talented’ programme, aiming to meet the needs of able and talented pupils via enrichment competitions, activity clubs, one-to-one lessons, school trips and guest speakers.
Whilst striving for academic excellence, the school seeks to develop boys’ love of learning through a broad and contemporary curriculum and a wide range of extra-curricular activities. The caring and compassionate Christian community enables boys to achieve excellent academic outcomes whilst developing well-rounded personalities.

Open Events for Aldro School 11 Plus (11+) Entry
Aldro holds Open Mornings, offering families the opportunity to meet the Head and take a pupil-led tour of the school. To register your attendance, please reach out to the admissions team.
Individual tours with the Head can be arranged at other times, allowing you and your child to meet teachers, see pupils at work and view the school’s facilities. Aldro School 11 Plus (11+) Admissions
After visiting the school, you should complete the registration form available on the website and submit it together with a £100 registration fee. Upon registering, Aldro’s staff will get in touch with details about the next stage in the admissions process.
In November/December of the year preceding the entry, your son will sit the ISEB Pre-test at his present school. Based on his results in this test, the quality of the reports from his current school and his performance during Taster Day, held in January, your son may receive an offer of a place at Aldro.
To accept the offer, you will be asked to complete an acceptance form and return a deposit of £1000 to the Registrar. This deposit will be refunded after the end of your son’s final term at the school.
Aldro School 11 Plus (11+) Scholarships and Bursaries
Scholarships are not available. However, Aldro does offer means-tested financial support (bursaries) to families in need. Bursaries may be awarded in the form of a discount of up to 100% on tuition fees, depending on your financial, compassionate or other pertinent circumstances.

Aldro School 11 Plus (11+) Exam Format
The Aldro School 11+ entrance examination consists of the following assessment:
- ISEB Common Pre-test
The online ISEB Pretest examines your son’s ability in skills such as numeracy, problem solving and vocabulary, with emphasis on how he thinks and responds to the curriculum. The test consists of modules testing Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning.
