Students are often scheduled to take a Cognitive Abilities Test (CAT) at school.
Schools use these assessments for a number of reasons. The results can be used to inform decisions on which senior school/s your child should apply to as well as internal decisions on streaming. Some senior schools request CAT scores as part of their admissions process.
As such, it can be a significant assessment for your child so it’s worth learning a bit more about it.
