Introduction
Basic information: Latymer Upper School is a coeducational public school in Hammersmith, London. It boasts a long tradition of academic achievements, ranking it among the top independent schools nationally. Its alumni include esteemed scientists, architects, geologists and politicians. Latymer Prep educates boys and girls from the ages 7-11. It was established in 1951 and initially comprised only two classes. [1][2]

Co-curricular: The wealth of enrichment opportunities on offer includes a wide selection of clubs, such as chess, zumba, drama, karate, Film Studies and ‘Young Latymerian’ – the school magazine written and designed by pupils. Latymer Prep School 8 Plus (8+) Admissions
Unlike 7+, 8+ is not Latymer Prep’s standard point of entry. Hence, in order for your child to be considered for a place, you will be asked to complete the Occasional Place Interest Form.
Subject to availability of places, your child will be invited to the school to be assessed. This is likely to take place in January of the calendar year of entry. Please note that successful applicants will be invited back to the school to attend an interview.
Offers of places are to be accepted by the deadline in early February.

The Latymer Prep School 8 Plus (8+) exam consists of the following assessments:

- Mathematics
The English exam tests comprehension and writing skills, including inference, punctuation and grammar, as well as the fluency of your child’s reading and oral skills.
The Maths exam assesses your child’s problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills, including knowledge of times tables.
