Introduction
Rokeby School is an independent day school for boys in Kingston upon Thames, London. Established in 1877, it has educated a vast number of notable alumni, including University professors, novelists, a Mayor of London and Sir Max Mallowan, archeologist and husband of Dame Agatha Christie. [1]
The school’s broad academic provision covers mathematics, science, languages and many other disciplines and is balanced with a rich selection of non-academic opportunities, including music, DT, art and drama. Both form and specialist teachers aim to engage and motivate pupils to do their best, delivering stimulating lessons that underpin their all-round development.
A plethora of co-curricular activities are on offer, introducing children to a world of possibilities where they can freely explore their limitations. Co-curricular trips, including visits to theatres, galleries and museums, are organised on a regular basis in order to maximise the scope of boys’ social and cultural versatility. [2]
Educating in line with the motto Smart, Skilful and Kind, Rokeby invests active efforts in enabling pupils to reach their full potential. As a result, they approach adulthood with impressive personal and cognitive skills and strong ability to assertively deal with complex situations, remaining respectful and tolerant in the process.
