Introduction
City of London Freemen’s School (CLFS) is a co-educational, day and boarding independent school located at Ashtead Park in Surrey. CLFS is a sister school to City of London School and City of London School for Girls, both of which are independent, London-based single-sex schools. [1]
Challenging pupils academically early on, the school offers a stimulating curriculum in the Junior School, covering English, mathematics, science, ICT, geography, history, religious education, art, DT, music, PE and PSHE.
Lessons are taught in Kemp House, a purpose built facility comprising a Science Laboratory, an Art Room, an ICT Suite, a Library, separate DT & Food Technology Rooms, Music Practice Rooms and an Assembly Hall, as well as an outside play area.
During their most recent ISI inspection, it was concluded that CLFS successfully meets the national, Independent School standards for spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of pupils and suitability of staff. [2]
Its community consists of active learners who strive to meet the school’s high academic expectations and expand their horizons both intellectually and emotionally. In line with this, they benefit from numerous relevant opportunities for growth, succeeding in all areas without losing their ability to empathise with others.
