Open Events for Alleyn’s School 6 Plus (6+) Entry
If you wish to learn more about the school and its staff, you are kindly advised to attend the Open Day events. Typically taking place in the Spring and Autumn terms, they consist of guided tours of facilities and one-on-ones with the Head and teachers. Refreshments will be provided.
Alleyn’s School 6 Plus (6+) Admissions
In order for your child to be considered for a Year 2 place, you should register them by submitting a registration form along with a payment of a non-refundable fee. The deadline for this is in early February of the calendar year of entry.
6+ assessments take place in early March. Please note that, to accept a place, you will be asked to pay a deposit, refunded during your child’s last term at Alleyn’s.

Alleyn’s School 6 Plus (6+) Exam Format
The Alleyn’s School 6 Plus (6+) exam consists of the following assessments:
- English
- Mathematics
- Reasoning
The English assessment examines comprehension and writing skills, including punctuation and grammar, as well as the fluency of your child’s reading and oral skills.
The Maths exam assesses problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills, including your child’s knowledge of times tables.
The Verbal Reasoning section of the Reasoning test is designed to test and assess logical thinking, use of English language and vocabulary.
The Non-Verbal Reasoning section of the Reasoning test measures the ability to understand, interpret and problem-solve, testing logic and intelligence rather than knowledge.
