Westminster School 16 Plus (16+) Entrance Exam Information

Written by Louise Lang

Introduction

Westminster School is an independent school in Westminster, London. Among the best in the country, it has produced three Nobel laureates and a plethora of further notable alumni who have left a lasting mark on the professions of their choice. [1]

The Sixth Form syllabus caters for a broad range of interests, offering everything from Latin and philosophy to physics and Spanish. The subjects are arranged in four blocks, with one option to be chosen from each, and the preferences made at this stage of a student’s education should reflect their university and career objectives.

To balance the often challenging academic life, the school provides an array of opportunities for fun beyond the classroom. Expeditions form an integral part of the co-curricular offering, maximising students’ cultural proficiency alongside their non-academic skills through trips to far-off destinations such as Morocco, Jordan and the US. [2]

Westminster’s wealth of tradition and heritage is reflected in every aspect of its provision. Continuously operational since the 14th century, the school prides itself on fostering the best possible climate for all-round excellence, boasting exceptional facilities and pastoral care in conjunction with teaching of unparalleled standard.
