Introduction
A high-achieving independent school, St Paul’s Girls’ School is based in Brook Green, Hammersmith (West London). It was established in 1904 to complement the boys’ school, St Paul’s School, also founded by John Colet. Better known as SPGS, the girls’ establishment features a long and impressive list of notable alumni. [1]
Academic development is at the heart of the school’s provision, thus teaching is vigorous and rewarding, covering a broad range of disciplines such as languages, technology and sciences. Girls are grounded in independence and responsibility, actively preparing for the next step of their educational journey.
The curriculum and co-curriculum are in many ways intertwined, allowing students to explore their potential and scope of abilities through both in-class and outdoor activities (such as the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award). Public service is highly regarded, hence volunteering in care homes and community centres is considered an integral part of school life. [2] [3]
As part of the SPGS offering, girls get to visit local places of great cultural significance and establish firm friendships in the process. Since the school is heavily invested in facilitating academic, personal and social development, Paulinas get to leave school as articulate and open-minded young women, typically accessing further education at the country’s most sought-after universities.
