Introduction
Latymer Upper School is a co-ed independent school in Hammersmith, London. Highly selective, it dates back to 1624 and is among the country’s leading schools in terms of GCSE and A level results, boasting one of the highest Oxford and Cambridge acceptance rates nationally. [1]

Latymer Upper School 16 Plus (16+) Admissions
The deadline for registration (for places) is in October of the year preceding entry. The registration fee is £125. The exam for Sixth Form entry will be held in November, and results will be communicated later the same month.
Interviews are held following the examinations, playing a vital role in the admissions process. Offers of places are posted in December, to be accepted by the deadline set later the same month.
Latymer Upper School 16 Plus (16+) Scholarships and Bursaries
Latymer Upper offers Music Scholarships to 16+ applicants who excel in auditions, but who also successfully meet the academic criteria throughout the admissions process. These awards carry a fee deduction (of not more than 20%) and free tuition on two instruments.
Drama, Art and Sports Scholarships are also available. Drama awards are offered following an audition, Art Scholarships are awarded on the basis of a submitted portfolio, and for Sports award applicants, the evaluation process will include an interview and a practical assessment.
Latymer Upper has a generous bursary programme. Bursaries are means-tested, covering 25–100% of fees, depending on the level of need of the applicant’s family. Please note that bursary applications must be submitted with relevant supporting documentation that reflects the household’s income, investments, assets, etc.

The Latymer Upper School 16+ exam consists of the following papers:
- English
- Mathematics
The English paper examines both comprehension and writing skills. Marks will be awarded for good use of imagination, creativity, form, purpose, organisation, cohesion and sentence structure.
The Maths exam assesses problem-solving abilities and key skills at an age appropriate level.
