Wimbledon High School (WHS) 13 Plus (13+) Admissions
13+ is WHS’ occasional vacancy, hence you should enquire about availability of places prior to applying for one. The assessments for 13+ entry are in a paper-based format, and, if successful, your daughter will be invited back to the school to attend an interview.
If she’s offered a place, you will be asked to accept it with a payment of a deposit, refunded during her last term at WHS.
Wimbledon High School 13 Plus (13+) Scholarships and Bursaries
Scholarships are not available to 13+ applicants. However, you can apply for a means-tested bursary. Covering 30–100% of fees, bursaries are usually offered to families who earn less than £42,500 annually and have no capital assets other than their home.

Wimbledon High School 13 Plus (13+) Exam Format
The Wimbledon High School 13+ entrance examination consists of the following assessments:
- English (45 mins)
- Mathematics (45 mins)
- Verbal Reasoning (45 mins)
The English paper examines comprehension and writing skills, including inference, vocabulary and punctuation. Marks will be awarded for good use of imagination, creativity, form, purpose, organisation, cohesion and sentence structure.
The maths exam assesses your daughter’s problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills. The paper will include questions on number, measurement, geometry, algebra and statistics.
The Verbal Reasoning paper is primarily designed to test and assess logical thinking and the use of English language and vocabulary.
