Introduction
More House School is an independent day school in Knightsbridge. It was established in 1953 as a response to London’s parents’ demands for better Catholic education for girls and it welcomes pupils of all faiths and from various cultural backgrounds. [1]
The school features a thriving academic life, grounded in efforts to inspire critical thought and a research-based approach to learning. Responsible use of technology is strongly encouraged, enriching More House’s culture of innovation that underpins an effective educational provision for languages, humanities, science and RS, among others.
Inspired to explore their talents within the scope of the broad school experience, girls eagerly partake in a wealth of co-curricular activities, ranging from fencing and debating to Foreign film club and calligraphy. More House also strongly encourages community service involvement, organising fundraising activities and offering volunteer opportunities at local charities and organisations. [2] [3]
The school’s strong Catholic heritage is reflected in an inclusive ethos that promotes honesty, integrity and an awareness of global issues, such as climate change and homelessness. Compassion and tolerance underpin the sense of belonging and purpose that pervade the school’s harmonious community, allowing girls to develop into self-motivated learners who approach life’s adversities with a great deal of spiritual depth.
