Introduction
Hampton School is an independent day school for boys in Hampton, Greater London. Established in 1557, it has educated an array of notable personalities, including esteemed authors, entrepreneurs, Olympic gold medalists and surgeons. [1]
A varied selection of subject options is at the core of the school’s extensive educational provision. Lessons for languages, mathematics, PSHE, Latin, Mandarin and many other disciplines are tailored to meet pupils’ expectations and stimulate their participation in in-class activities, maximising their cognitive potential in the process.
Beyond the classroom, boys benefit from an overarching co-curricular offering that encompasses everything from chess, film making and philosophy to Architecture Club, debating and DofE. Through the Talk! series, Hampton provides students with the unique opportunity to hear from professionals from all walks of life, thus allowing them to become familiar with the pressures and complexities that characterise the world of work. [2]
In line with the motto Praestat Opes Sapientia (Wisdom surpasses wealth), Hampton offers a rigorous and relevant education without disregarding the moral and spiritual dimension of pupils’ development. As a result, boys leave school with a clear sense of right and wrong, performing at the highest academic standard while remaining profoundly true to themselves.
