Introduction

Gordonstoun School is a co-ed independent school for day and boarding pupils in Moray, Scotland. Boasting a long and impressive alumni list that includes members of the Royal Family, it was named after an estate owned by former Scottish politician Sir Robert Gordon and currently occupies 150 acres of grounds. [1]

Gordonstoun actively prepares students for a future of success and the curriculum reflects this to the full. Subject options range from mathematics, humanities and science to computing, design and drama, providing the cohort with strong foundation as they engage in theoretical and experiential learning.

The school is home to a plethora of nationalities, which underpins a multicultural ethos rooted in acceptance and understanding. The diverse range of cultural backgrounds and Gordonstoun’s varied co-curriculum ensure a vibrant school life that builds on positive experiences, characterised by a spirit of adventure and earnest endeavour.

Thanks to the broad Outdoor Learning programme that includes mountain biking, kayaking, orienteering, surfing and skiing, pupils develop skills, resilience and stamina that help them access adulthood with confidence and excellent overall health. As learning extends well beyond the classroom environment, they benefit from both the stunning Scottish landscape and unparalleled standards of education, growing in strong environmental awareness and responsibility very early on.
