The Late Transfer test, designed for Year 9 (13+) entry, evaluates students’ abilities across three broad areas and lasts for approximately one hour. To be considered for this assessment, it is necessary to register your child by the October deadline in the year prior to entry. 

 

During the registration process, you will also be asked to indicate your school preferences and provide information regarding your child’s eligibility for Pupil Premium and Free School Meals. Additionally, it is important to disclose any medical or social needs that may impact their ranking.

 

Invitations for the Late Transfer test are typically sent out in December, and it is crucial to confirm your child’s attendance by a specified date. The test itself takes place in February of the entry year, and you can expect to receive the results in the following month.

The multiple-choice Verbal Reasoning paper is designed to test and assess logical thinking, use of English language and vocabulary.

 

The multiple-choice Non-Verbal Reasoning paper measures the ability to understand, interpret and problem-solve, testing logic and intelligence rather than knowledge.
