Introduction
The Peterborough School, formerly known as Peterborough High, is an independent co-educational school in Peterborough. Founded in 1895 as a girls’ facility, it is owned by the Woodard Corporation alongside twenty other independent schools. [1]
Recognised for their holistic approach to teaching, staff encourages excellence alongside courtesy and kindness. In-class learning is supported by a balanced curriculum that includes English, MFL, IT, science and PSHEE, providing pupils with a number of opportunities for full academic development.
After classes, children engage in fun yet practical activities, aimed at boosting their non-academic interests and competencies across a wide range of abilities. Everything from fencing and rowing to ballet and orchestra is on offer, adding up to the wealth and relevance of the educational provision. [2]
A rich selection of facilities makes learning at The Peterborough School effortless. Students regularly visit the spacious library to study, go for an exercise in the cutting-edge Sports Centre and get together for collaborative work in a sound-proofed meeting room. The school also has its own Chapel, where children can quietly reflect on what they have learnt and even hear a speech from a visiting speaker. [3] [4]
