Introduction

Stafford Grammar School is a co-ed independent day school at Burton Manor, Staffordshire. Established in 1982, it is one of the top-performing schools in the county. Stafford Grammar occupies a beautiful building designed by Victorian architect Augustus Pugin and caters for over 400 pupils. [1]

The school offers a broad education, underpinned by a balanced curriculum that includes English, MFL, computer science, DT, science and PSHEE. To secure pupils’ strong academic achievements, Stafford Grammar provides extensive pastoral care, addressing their individual needs in collaboration with parents.

A number of extracurriculars supplement the educational provision. Students get to choose from a range of sporting, creative and syllabus-related activities, boosting their learning capacity and facilitating their all-round development. Particular emphasis is placed on music, hence the school’s orchestra, choir and instrumental bands regularly perform both within Stafford Grammar and beyond. [2]

Open Events for Stafford Grammar School 11 Plus (11+) Entry

Stafford Grammar holds a number of open events throughout the year, enabling prospective families to familiarise themselves with everything on offer. Open Week events are held in March and June, on a typical school week, allowing your child to see the school in action and explore facilities through guided tours.

Open Door Afternoons are held in June: these are low-key events during which you can meet key members of staff. The annual Open Morning takes place in October, allowing you and your child to meet the Head and chat with current pupils. Booking for this event is not required. Stafford Grammar School 11 Plus (11+) Admissions

Entry into Year 7 is based on performance in entrance assessments and the quality of the reference obtained from your child’s current school. There will also be an interview with the Head.
 
The exams will assess your child’s skills across two broad areas. If you decide to accept an offer of a place, you should submit relevant registration documents, provided to you by the school, and pay a refundable deposit.

Stafford Grammar School 11 Plus (11+) Scholarships and Bursaries

The school offers Academic Scholarships, awarded on the basis of performance in the entrance exams and further assessments. Scholarships for Music, Drama & Performing Arts and Sports are also available.
