Introduction

 

St Dominic’s Grammar School is an independent, co-educational day school in the village of Brewood, Staffordshire. Founded by the Dominican Sisters in 1920, it was previously known by the names St Dominic’s High School For Girls and St Dominic’s Brewood. [1]

 

The balanced curriculum comprises English, maths, biology, chemistry, physics, geography, history, RE, French, Spanish, art, DT, PE, music, drama and ICT.

To register your child for the 11+ exam, you should submit a completed registration form and pay the £25 fee. The entrance examination assesses pupils’ skills across three broad areas. 

 

Subject to successful performance in the exam, satisfactory conduct during interview and quality reference from the current Headteacher, your child may receive an offer. Please note that acceptance includes completing relevant forms and paying a £200 fee.

The English paper examines both comprehension and writing skills, including inference, spelling, vocabulary and punctuation. Marks will be awarded for good use of imagination, creativity, form, purpose, organisation, cohesion and sentence structure.
