Introduction
St Dominic’s Grammar School is an independent, co-educational day school in the village of Brewood, Staffordshire. Founded by the Dominican Sisters in 1920, it was previously known by the names St Dominic’s High School For Girls and St Dominic’s Brewood. [1]
The balanced curriculum comprises English, maths, biology, chemistry, physics, geography, history, RE, French, Spanish, art, DT, PE, music, drama and ICT.
Through an extensive selection of enrichment activities, which include the World Challenge programme, pupils have the opportunity to work on community projects and travel to far-off destinations such as Malaysia and Costa Rica, or take part in exchange programmes to both France and Spain.

To register your child for the 11+ exam, you should submit a completed registration form and pay the £25 fee. The entrance examination assesses pupils’ skills across three broad areas.
Subject to successful performance in the exam, satisfactory conduct during interview and quality reference from the current Headteacher, your child may receive an offer. Please note that acceptance includes completing relevant forms and paying a £200 fee.

St. Dominic’s awards scholarships in the following areas: Academic ability, Sports, Performing Arts and Art. Academic awards are offered on the grounds of performance in the entrance assessment.
Performing Arts (Music, Dance, Drama) and Sport Scholarships are awarded following auditions, while Art Scholarships are allocated on the grounds of a portfolio and a formal interview.

- Verbal Reasoning
The English paper examines both comprehension and writing skills, including inference, spelling, vocabulary and punctuation. Marks will be awarded for good use of imagination, creativity, form, purpose, organisation, cohesion and sentence structure.
