To visit the school, you should book a spot for a Tour Morning/Afternoon event or arrange an individual visit. Sherborne Girls 11 Plus (11+) Admissions

To register your daughter with the school, you should complete the registration form and submit it with a payment of a £250 registration fee. The school recommends that you register by the end of Year 5 at the latest.

Your daughter will then be invited to sit online entrance examinations and to attend an interview. These take place during the 11+ Boarding Taster and Assessment Weekend, held in December. Please note that a reference and report from your daughter’s current school will be requested and reviewed as part of the process. 

To accept an offer, you will be asked to complete an acceptance form and pay a £2,000 deposit, which reserves your daughter’s place at the school. This will be refunded during her last term at Sherborne Girls. The acceptance deadline is the beginning of March of the calendar year of entry.

Sherborne Girls 11 Plus (11+) Scholarships and Bursaries

Academic, Sports and Music Scholarships, worth up to £3,000 per year, are available to 11+ applicants. Sports scholarships are awarded partly on the basis of performance-based fitness trials, while Music scholarships are offered following a successful audition, sight-reading and aural tests. Academic scholarships are not awarded following separate assessments, as they are awarded based on pupils’ performance in the 11+ entrance examinations. The 11+ assessment at Sherborne Girls consists of:

The Sherborne Girls online assessment consists of various modules divided into two parts.

⦿ Part 1 assesses Non-Verbal Reasoning, Maths, Verbal Reasoning and English.

NVR tests spatial and visual reasoning, while the Maths section comprises diagrams and charts with questions that evaluate proficiency in various mathematical areas.

The VR module evaluates students’ capacity to interpret context-based meanings, while the English section assesses reading comprehension, grammar, spelling and punctuation abilities.

Puzzles and Problem Solving consists of multi-step problem-solving tasks testing logical reasoning, while the Creative Comprehension module focuses on students’ ability to extract and assimilate information to form a conclusion.
