Priory School 11 Plus (11+) Entrance Exam Information 2026

Introduction

Priory School is an independent, co-educational day school in Birmingham, West Midlands. Set in over 14 acres of beautiful gardens and playing fields, the school has been known for its high standards of education for over 80 years.

With focus on developing the whole child, Priory provides stimulating small-group teaching and a broad range of subjects and enrichment activities whilst securing pupils’ personal growth via extensive pastoral care. To further engage pupils in life-changing activities, the school regularly organises trips to destinations such as Spain, France, Barbados and Iceland.

Open Events for Priory School 11 Plus (11+) Entry

Open Mornings take place on three separate occasions throughout the academic year. The school highly recommends that you and your child attend at least one of these events.

Priory School 11 Plus (11+) Admissions

The first step of the admissions process includes registration. You will be expected to complete a form and pay a fee of £50, both to be submitted one week prior to the entrance examinations.

Before making an offer, Priory may contact your child’s current school for a verbal reference. Borderline pupils will also attend an interview with a senior staff member.

Offers are typically sent out two weeks after the examinations. To accept the offer, you will be asked to complete and return an acceptance form and pay the £500 acceptance deposit within a specific deadline.

Priory School 11 Plus (11+) Scholarships and Bursaries

Scholarships and Supported Places are available to Year 7 entrants. Their continuation is subject to positive conduct and results.

Scholarships are awarded for excellence in the following areas:

• Academic ability
• Sports
• Performing Arts
• Art
  
  

These are typically valued at up to 10% of fees. Scholars are expected to be role models and actively participate in school life.

Means-tested Supported Places are also available and are typically offered to pupils from households with a combined gross income that’s less than £60,000 per annum. These awards are reviewed annually.
