Once an offer of a place is communicated, you will be expected to return an acceptance form along with a deposit prior to the deadline date of acceptance.

If the number of candidates exceeds the number of available places, priority will be given to:

Prior Park College 11 Plus (11+) Scholarships and Bursaries

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of potential and attainment. They are up to the value of 10% of tuition fees and are independent of parental financial circumstances. For 11+ entry, the school offers:

  • Academic Scholarships
  • Special Talent Scholarships

Special Talent Scholarships are available in Art, Drama, Product Design, Music and Sport. Students can hold an Academic Scholarship and one Special Talent Scholarship simultaneously.

Scholarships are reviewed throughout a Scholar’s time at the College and may be removed subject to a significant decline in commitment or behaviour.

To increase the fee reduction, scholarships can be coupled with a means-tested bursary. Families who may require bursarial support should contact the Financial Controller to discuss this matter well in advance of the entrance examination. To apply for a bursary, your child must be registered and the £100 registration fee must be paid.

Bursaries are reviewed throughout the holder’s time at the College and may be removed due to a significant decline in commitment or performance or a change in a family’s personal circumstances. For further information, please visit the school’s website.

Prior Park College 11 Plus (11+) Exam Format

The Prior Park College 11+ entrance exam consists of the following assessments:

  • Maths
  • Non-Verbal Reasoning
  • Puzzles & Problem-Solving

The maths section will not go beyond the Year 5 maths curriculum. Topics covered could be arithmetic, geometry, measurement, numbers and statistics. Questions will evaluate your child’s mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills, as well as their ability to work through multi-step questions.

The non-verbal reasoning section will determine your child’s ability to solve problems using visual information. They might, for example, have to study a shape and then decide which set of pictured blocks from the selection given could be used to build it.

The puzzles and problem-solving section uses interactive puzzles to test your child’s ability to methodically work through a task in which the answer isn’t obvious. Their thinking will need to be flexible, and they will need to stay focused.
