Introduction
We’ve just released fifteen new practice tests:
Bundle
These practice tests are specifically designed for students taking the 11+ Exam for entry to the following Grammar Schools:
⇒ Wirral Grammar School for Girls
⇒ Wirral Grammar School for Boys
⇒ Calday Grange Grammar School
These schools belong to the Wirral Consortium of Grammar Schools.
So what does the new Wirral 11+ assess?
The grammar schools in Wirral use a custom test created by GL Assessment. The exam covers three topics:
- Mathematics
- Verbal Reasoning
- Non-Verbal + Spatial Reasoning
These topics are assessed in short, timed sections divided between two papers, each roughly 60 minutes in duration. Both papers explore all the subjects. Our practice tests mirror this unique format, enabling your child to familiarise themselves with this style of assessment.
Each section is preceded by practice and sample questions for your child to try. We’ve included these in our new papers to ensure they are as accurate as possible.
In addition to this, we’ve also ensured that all key question types are included, even those that are new and unusual and may not be found elsewhere, ensuring your child encounters no unexpected surprises on the day of the exam.
Our Wirral 11+ practice tests comprise questions written by an actual GL Assessment question writer, ensuring they are as accurate as possible. Some of the question types included are relatively new and not well known. You won’t find them in other practice resources.
While we recommend working through the official GL Assessment familiarisation material with your child, it’s essential to note that these materials are generic for all GL 11+ Exams and don’t provide a fully accurate representation of the exam your child will take in Wirral.
How will these practice tests benefit my child?
Our practice tests are specifically designed to mirror the timings and layout of the Wirral exam, including new question types that might not be shown in the familiarisation material but are likely to appear in the actual exam. Here are some of the key benefits of using our Wirral practice tests:
1. Advantage: Using these mock tests will provide your child with robust practice and a considerable edge over their peers.
2. Clarity: These practice tests will clarify exactly what your child needs to focus on, reducing stress from the exam preparation process.
3. Enhanced Confidence: Our tests will enable your child to approach their exam with increased confidence, as they will know what is expected of them.
4. Exam Familiarity: Answer sheets that replicate the actual exam format are included, providing realistic familiarisation for your child.
5. Detailed Answers: Every question comes with a comprehensive answer, facilitating in-depth understanding across each subject tested.
