Introduction
Poole High School is a co-ed secondary school based in the centre of Poole in Dorset. It was opened in 1939 and has significantly expanded since then, becoming one of the larger schools in the country. [1]
The academic provision at Poole High is centred on grounding pupils in a love of learning, featuring an abundance of subject options for this purpose. Balanced and well-integrated, the curriculum comprises computing, MFL, science and humanities, among others, catering for children through a consistently comprehensive offering.
The extracurricular programme includes tennis, Film Club, choir, journalism and coding, allowing children to explore their potential to the full while acquiring new skills in the process. The Duke of Edinburgh Award enjoys immense popularity at Poole High. Through the programme, the school succeeds in maximising the many benefits of outdoor education, including resilience, teamwork and perseverance. [2]
A big school with a small school mentality, Poole High is as inclusive and friendly as it gets, allowing children to grow up slowly and without pressure.
