Introduction
Notting Hill and Ealing High School (NHEHS) is an independent school for girls in Ealing, London. It was founded in 1873 and is an active member of the GDST network of schools. NHEHS boasts a long list of notable alumni and is one of only ten schools in the country that were featured in the Times School League Tables Top 20 for both GCSE and A-Levels. [1]
Committed to maintaining the school’s long tradition of academic excellence, staff are well-experienced and actively involved in boosting girls’ skills and qualifications. Engaging lessons are delivered for computer science, humanities, MFL and RS, among others, instilling in pupils a love of learning which ignites their ambition to perform consistently well.
A wealth of extracurriculars further expands their capacity for all-round growth, ensuring that they learn and achieve while having lots of fun. Ranging from chess, debating and Feminism Society to gardening, philosophy and MUN, the activities complement the educational experience and add up to its impressively dynamic and vigorous character. [2]
Trips abroad are organised on a regular basis, allowing girls to maximise their understanding of different cultures, ways of life and their unique properties. Destinations typically include Iceland, Spain, Switzerland (CERN), China and Germany (Berlin), ensuring that learning extends way beyond the confines of the classroom and into the unfamiliar, where it becomes a thrilling journey of self-discovery.

Notting Hill and Ealing High School (NHEHS) Admissions Criteria
Notting Hill & Ealing High School is part of the London 11+ Consortium. All the schools that belong to the Consortium use the same entrance test. Year 7 is the usual main entry point to NHEHS’s Senior School and admission is determined by student performance in the assessment.
The school also requires prospective pupils to attend an interview as part of the Year 7 selection process. This interview, which typically takes place in January, aims to help the school to identify who will benefit most from attending NHEHS.
Year 7 places are offered based on student performance in both the entrance exam and the interview, plus a character reference from their current school will be taken into account. For further information on NHEHS’s Year 7 admissions process, please contact the Admissions team.
