Norwich High School for Girls 11 Plus (11+) Admissions
After you’ve created a parent account on Norwich High’s website, applications to join the school can be completed online, together with a payment of a £75 registration fee. At this stage, you will also be able to apply for a bursary and scholarships.
The entrance exam is held in January, and places are awarded on the basis of merit and potential demonstrated in the exam and an interview with the Head. The quality of a confidential report from your daughter’s current school will also play an important role in the admissions process.
Results are communicated by the end of February, and places are to be confirmed by the deadline indicated in the offer letter. Please note that acceptance of a place includes a payment of a £500 deposit.
Norwich High School for Girls 11 Plus (11+) Scholarships and Bursaries
Scholarships are awarded to girls who show exceptional ability and potential in the school’s assessments. Applicants who are awarded scholarships will retain their Scholar status for the duration of their time at Norwich High, provided they consistently meet the established standards of excellence.
At 11+, the following awards are available:

Bursaries are granted based on academic merit and are subject to means-testing, which considers the income of parents to ensure equitable allocation of financial assistance. Those covering 100% of the fees are typically awarded to families whose total income is less than £44,000.
Bursaries that cover less than 100% of the fees will be awarded on a graded scale, according to parental income. Please note that these awards are reassessed annually and may increase/decrease, subject to changes in your finances.

The 11+ exam at Norwich High School for Girls consists of:

The Norwich High online test consists of the following modules:
⦾ Maths: comprises diagrams and charts that evaluate proficiency in different mathematical areas, such as arithmetic and problem solving.
⦾ English: contains multiple-choice questions designed to evaluate reading comprehension, as well as grammar, spelling and punctuation abilities.
⦾ Verbal Reasoning: encompasses multiple-choice questions that assess students’ vocabulary and their ability to discern context-based meanings.
⦾ Non-Verbal Reasoning: consists of multiple-choice questions that evaluate spatial and visual reasoning.
The creative writing paper will assess punctuation, grammar and spelling skills, as well as imagination and creativity.
