Introduction
Newcastle-under-Lyme School is an independent co-educational school in the town of Newcastle-under-Lyme in Staffordshire. It was born out of the merger of the old Newcastle High School and the Orme Girls’ School.
Seniors take lessons in art & design, biology, chemistry, computing, DT, drama, English Language & Literature, food and nutrition, geography, history, Latin, mathematics, Modern Foreign Languages, music, physical education, physics, RS and philosophy.
After classes, they partake in a rich programme of Clubs, Drama, House Activities, Music, Scouts and Sports. Via the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme, pupils outgrow their comfort zone whilst building confidence, resilience, work skills and firm friendships.
The mix of beautiful Victorian school buildings and modern architecture is a synonym for the school’s tendency to fuse the best from the past and present. With an excellent track record in public examinations, Newcastle-under-Lyme provides an enjoyable learning experience whilst equipping pupils for success and happiness in life beyond school.
