Introduction 

Manchester Islamic Grammar School for Girls, commonly referred to as MIGSG, was founded over 25 years ago. Recently rated as Outstanding by OFSTED, it is noted for providing a purposeful learning environment to bright Muslim girls from the area, as well as for its achievements, such as the recent 100% GCSE pass rate. The curriculum broadly reflects the school’s aims to cater for girls’ academic enthusiasm and ambitions at the highest standard. Targeted yet varied, it features a number of relevant disciplines, including design technology, science, humanities and MFL, and actively prepares students for the demands of higher education.

The school’s enrichment programme further enhances girls’ learning capacity, boasting an array of opportunities for personal and social growth. Manchester Islamic Grammar School for Girls Year 7 (11+) Admissions                   

The first step of the admissions process consists of registration. The registration form can be accessed through this page, and should be submitted with a £40 fee. The deadline for this is in December of the year preceding entry.

The entrance exams are formal, assessing a broad range of areas. They take place in January of the calendar year of entry across two specific dates within that month.

Manchester Islamic Grammar School for Girls Year 7 (11+) Entry Scholarships and Bursaries

A limited number of scholarships and bursaries are available to Year 7 entrants. Scholarships are allocated as recognitions to academic merit, while bursaries are awarded to high-achieving students from low-income families.
