Introduction

 

Occupying a beautiful 52-acre site in the Berkshire countryside, Lambrook is an independent day and boarding Prep School that caters for a mixed cohort. It boasts a rich history, having educated two of Queen Victoria’s grandsons. Lambrook School 11 Plus (11+) Admissions

  

A registration form can be accessed through this page and should be submitted with a £200 non-refundable fee upon completion. This marks the first step in the admissions process, which also includes formal assessments, a team-building exercise and an interview with the Head. A reference and reports from your child’s current school will be reviewed as part of the admissions process.

 

To accept an offer, you will be required to pay an acceptance deposit. This deposit is equivalent to half of a term’s fees and serves as a confirmation of your commitment to enrol your child.

 

Lambrook School 11 Plus (11+) Scholarships and Bursaries

 

Lambrook offers two types of bursaries:

 

⦾ Full Bursaries

 

Lambrook maintains formal links with the Royal Springboard organisation, through which it identifies 11+ applicants who would really flourish at the school. The value of the award is 140%, covering not only the fees but also expenses for uniform, transport, clubs and trips. Royal Springboard also aim to ensure that these pupils have a fully funded place at a senior school after they leave Lambrook.

 

⦾ General Bursaries 

 

General bursaries are available to pupils from low-income families, who wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity to benefit from Lambrook’s education. These are allocated after a thorough assessment of the household’s finances, also known as a means test, which is conducted by an independent company. Please note that the means test takes place early in the admissions journey.

 

Lambrook School 11 Plus (11+) Exam Format

 

The Lambrook School 11+ online test consists of the following:

 

⦾ Non-Verbal Reasoning (including Spatial Reasoning)

⦾ English

⦾ Mathematics

⦾ Verbal Reasoning 

 

Non-Verbal Reasoning: includes questions that will evaluate your child’s spatial and visual reasoning through multiple-choice questions.

 

English: includes questions that will assess your child’s reading comprehension, grammar, spelling and punctuation skills.

 

Mathematics: includes questions that will evaluate your child’s proficiency in various mathematical domains, including problem solving and arithmetic. 

 

Verbal Reasoning: includes questions testing vocabulary and understanding of meaning in context while also testing the ability to identify relationships between words.
