Kirkham Grammar School is a selective co-educational independent school in Kirkham, Lancashire. Founded in 1549, its roots can be traced back to the chantry school attached to St Michael’s Church in the 13th century. The front range of the school and the headmaster’s house are designated Grade II listed buildings.

Kirkham Grammar School 11 Plus (11+) Admissions

 

To apply for Year 7 entry, you will be asked to complete a Registration Form and pay the appropriate registration fee. You will then be sent details of the date and time of the entrance examinations, together with relevant information about the tests and criteria relating to scholarships and bursaries.

 

The examinations are usually set in February or at other times in the year if there are places available. The admissions process also takes into account current-school reports and there is an interview, as well.

 

The offer of a place is subject to your child’s successful performance in the examinations and interviews, as well as a positive school report. In exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of the Head, upon passing equivalent examinations and being admitted to another independent school, your child may be offered a place at Kirkham Grammar School without having to take the entrance exam.
