King Edward VI Grammar School (KEVIGS) in Louth, Lincolnshire, is a selective grammar school that dates back to 1276. Originally a boys’ school, it currently caters to a mixed cohort of around 1030 pupils aged 11-18 in line with high academic and pastoral standards. [1]

Admission to KEVIGS in Year 7 is determined by pupil performance in the 11 Plus exam. The school strongly encourages prospective families to attend one of their Open Evenings to learn more about the overall offering. 

The Local Authority coordinates KEVIGS’ admissions at Year 7. Should the school be oversubscribed, the following oversubscription criteria are used, giving priority to:

1. Looked After children, or previously Looked After children
2. Children whose siblings attend the school
3. Twins who have passed the test for the same year of entry
4. Pupils who live in the traditional catchment area and have attended one of the designated primary schools
5. Candidates with the highest test scores.

How to Apply for 11 Plus (11+) Entry to King Edward VI Grammar School, Louth

To register your child for entry, you must download and complete a registration form from the school’s website in the first instance.

Parents living in Lincolnshire should also complete a Common Application Form (CAF) directly via the LA website. Failure to do so will mean your child will not be considered for a grammar school place in Lincolnshire.
