Introduction

Halliford School is a selective independent school for boys (co-educational in the sixth form) located in Lower Halliford, Shepperton. It’s a member of the Headmasters’ and Headmistresses’ Conference (HMC).

The school building is at Georgian House set in 6 acres near the River Thames and was once home to Emma Hart (later Emma, Lady Hamilton).

The school significantly expanded in 2000 with a professional theatre, separate dining hall, an arts and technology building, a sports hall, a separate gymnasium and a climbing wall added to its premises.

The school prides itself on providing a thriving, happy and aspirational community for its pupils. The ethos centres on strong family values as well as the values of being academically ambitious but at the same time sensitive to students’ needs. Halliford’s outstanding pastoral care is complemented by first-class sporting, cultural and extra-curricular opportunities.

The balanced and wide-ranging curricular programme includes English, French and/or German or Spanish, mathematics, Latin/classical civilisation, biology, chemistry, physics, history, geography, art, drama, music, design and technology, computing science, religious studies and physical education.

The variety of co-curricular activities provides an opportunity for pupils to develop life-long interests, lasting friendships, as well as new skills that will help them grow in confidence.

Halliford’s community is endorsed by a supportive group of parents who arrange various fundraising events for the school. The strong bond is further maintained within the scope of the school’s many policies. Halliford School continually invests in the quality of the teaching and pastoral care provided to students.

Halliford School is aligned with an Anti-bullying policy, a Mental Health policy, a Preventing Extremism and Radicalisation policy, a Well-being and an Equal Opportunities policy.

The school’s profound approach towards providing the best learning experience to its pupils corresponds strongly with its motto Via firma ad firmiora (A firm path to firmer things).
