Dr Challoner’s High School, known as DCHS, is an all-girls school situated in Little Chalfont, Buckinghamshire. Since its establishment in 1962, the school has been providing education to girls aged between 11 and 18. It holds academic and specialist status as a Sports and Language College.

Dr Challoner’s High School is a fully selective grammar school for girls, and Year 7 entry is determined by student performance in the 11 Plus Secondary Transfer Test, which is created by GL Assessment. Admissions to the school are administered by Buckinghamshire County Council as part of its Coordinated Admissions Scheme.

Dr Challoner’s High School holds Open Mornings/Evenings throughout the year, welcoming prospective families to the site for an event packed with fun activities, including tours of the facilities. Places for the events are limited, hence early booking is strongly recommended.

Since the school is popular amongst local families, it often has more successful applications than there are available places. In such cases, the following oversubscription criteria are used, giving priority to:

• Looked After or previously Looked After Children
• Students who live in the school’s catchment area and qualify for Pupil Premium
• Daughters of staff at Dr Challoner’s High School

How to Apply for 11 Plus (11+) Entry to Dr Challoner’s High School

Children enrolled in a state funded Buckinghamshire primary school are automatically registered to take the 11 Plus Secondary Transfer Test. However, if your child attends a school outside the county’s state funded primary school system or attends an independent school in Buckinghamshire, registration through the Local Authority is necessary.

You’ll also be required to fill out and submit the school’s Supplementary Information Form if you are seeking admission for your daughter under the catchment area criteria. 

Furthermore, you will be asked to submit a CAF form to your Local Authority, indicating your child’s school choices. The deadline for this is in October.

The outcomes of the Secondary Transfer Test are provided within the same month, and the allocation of school places is finalised in March.
